The European Commission authorized the probiotic Enterococcus faecium strain DSM 7134 for application in laying hens, making it one of the few E. faecium strains available for layers. The authorization covers utilization through both, feed and drinking-water.

 

This latest development complements the previous authorizations for broilers, piglets, fattening pigs and minor poultry species, making our MAXLAC probiotics available to a broad variety of species. Apart from that, Enterococcus faecium strain DSM 7134 is authorized for calves in combination with Lactobacillus rhamnosus DSM 7133, as being implemented in our MAXLAC MR additive.
